The campus covers 4,000 square metres divided into two adjacent buildings: the Tucano campus and the Faggi campus. In 2018, several rooms were renovated, modernised and made more comfortable and functional. The restructuring of the campus will continue until the end of 2020. The campus complex is located 600 metres from the Lugano Sud motorway exit and is served by public transport. It is 10-15 minutes’ walk from Lugano-Paradiso railway station.
‘Attention to spaces means attention to the person, to the children, seen as active and participating subjects. The centrality of the person, the new humanism and openness to the territory find in the learning environment the right context to organise knowledge and to feel good: the key words are well-being and welcome, flexibility, identity and sociality. The classroom with the desks in a row is less and less suitable for this setting.’ (Bagnara et al., 2014).
